Reclaiming Childhood: Interrupting a screen based childhood by increasing independence and free play
Targeted to parents of children age birth-10, this workshop is designed to explore research around play and screen based childhoods and the impact both have on children. Parenting is hard, especially in the digital age. This workshop will provide strategies to help parents navigate fostering independence, encouraging free play and helping kids to have a healthy relationship with technology.

Turning Off & Tuning In: Practical scripts and strategies for reducing your child’s screen time.
This workshop is designed to provide practical scripts and strategies to help reduce your child’s screen time. As a follow up to the Reclaiming Childhood presentation, this workshop will allow parents to learn strategies, practice scripts to use with your kids, hear from other parents and ask questions of the presenters. Parents will leave this workshop with increased confidence and a plan to help their child/ren have a different relationship with screens.

Growing Up Confident: Encouraging age-appropriate independence and responsibility.
Encouraging age-appropriate independence and responsibility is an essential part of growing up. This workshop is built to help parents to foster independence in their children and to facilitate opportunities for responsibility. Research shows that children who are allowed independence and who are given increased responsibilities develop greater self-efficacy, problem solving skills, are better able to manage their emotions and have improved executive function skills. Parents will leave this workshop ready to promote independence and responsibility at home and beyond.
